Art Requirements for High Resolution

Six-Color
Six-C is a six color process. We use a CYMK ink set plus light cyan and light magenta (LcLm). We do not print spot colors. All files sent for Six-C printing should be CMYK only. Our printer will do the rest.

Software
Please create your files in one or more of the following applications only:
• Quark Xpress, including all placed images, logos, fonts and other elements.
• Adobe Illustrator with all placed files. Convert all fonts to outlines.
• Photoshop, including all layers, paths and channels.

Image File Formats and Modes
Files must be CMYK. If your file is RGB or duotone, convert it to CMYK. Be aware that some mode changes may produce unacceptable color shifts due to differences in color gamuts.

Acceptable raster image file formats:
• EPS • Photoshop • TIFF • Scitex CT

File Preparation
Layout size should be either ½ or ¼ of actual size in inches. Convert feet to inches and divide by 2 for ½ size and 4 for ¼ size.

All layout files for Six-C reproduction must be either Adobe Illustrator or Quark Express. All hi-res or rastered images must be 300 dpi or higher and must come into the layout at 100%. If you discover that you need to scale up the hi-res file to achieve the desired cropping, recreate the file at the appropriate size or scale it to size in Photoshop.

We must have all fonts and supporting graphics sent to us. Low-res FPO’s may be placed as long as the hi-res image is provided as well.

Scanning
We can scan original artwork such as transparencies or prints provided it is flexible enough to wrap around our drum and it does not exceed a maximum size of 20” X 24”.

Mechanicals
Please include a hard copy (color or B & W) of each design. It is not necessary to make the mechanical a specific size, but it must be proportional to the final out put size. Please indicate clearly all PMS color callouts.

Fonts
Always include all necessary fonts. When using Adobe Illustrator convert fonts to outlines.
